Senior Audio/Visual Technician

We are looking for a Senior Audio/Visual Technician to do product installation, set-up, and configuration of custom smart home technology systems and electronics for our residential clients. MiHome Systems specializes in residential smart home creation and installation in the areas of audio & video, lighting, shades, climate, surveillance, and networking. Here are some of the Job Responsibilities:

  • Product installation, set-up, and configuration
  • Equipment Rack Fabrication
  • Install audio, video, control systems, video conferencing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Document daily activities for project progress, follow-up, and billing
  • Guide clients though system operation
  • Maintain a positive relationship with clients & co-workers through effective verbal/written communication
  • Service and maintain control systems

The person who will succeed in this job will have:

  • Crestron Home experience
  • Prior product installation, set-up, and configuration experience
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service and drive to exceed the expectations and needs of our clients
  • Passion about smart home technology and have the willingness to continue education and certifications as necessary

Additional Details

  • Use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Lift up to 75 lbs
  • May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Training provided
  • Most of the travel is in West Michigan, with possible travel to other states.

Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Equipment Rack Fabrication
  • Pull and terminate a variety of cables
  • Install audio, video, control systems, video conferencing equipment, etc
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Document daily activities for project progress, follow-up, and billing
  • Guide clients though system operation
  • Maintain a positive relationship with clients & co-workers through effective verbal/written communication
  • Service and maintain control systems

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service and drive to exceed the expectations and needs of our clients
  • Passionate about smart home technology and have the willingness to continue education and certifications as necessary
  • We will train you, but any previous training you have in cable/terminations, video switching/routing, control systems, audio, computers (servers, networking, routers, switches) is a plus
  • Use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Lift up to 75 lbs
  • May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record

  • Salary: $14.00 to $19.00 per hour based on experience/qualifications
